Julie Vanderslice represented my office at the Cobb Island Fire /EMS Station and Apparatus Dedication as I was unavailable. County Commissioners Sam Graves and Gary Hodge were in attendance and each got up to give congratulatory remarks. Also attending was Hammad Matin, Senator Ben Cardin’s former Charles County Field Representative and current candidate for the Charles County state’s attorney position.
William (“Bill”) Lawman, Sr., President of the VFD was Master of Ceremonies and joined Eddie Godwin, the Fire Chief, in thanking all who supported their efforts to build the new station. The new state-of-the-art fire house is quite impressive and is currently the most high tech building on Cobb Island! If you get a chance to drop by, please do so and show your support for the volunteers who cover the Cobb Island area from this station. I want to thank all of the volunteers who show their dedication to the community and their obvious concern for our safety.
I got a note from Rick Pike that the new fire station needed a new Maryland flag which I was happy to donate and I will be looking for it when I visit next time.
