This was a day for all of us to reflect on the independence and freedom we have in this great country.

Teen Court for Charles County
Delegate Murphy serves as a visiting Judge at Teen Court.
Thanks to Master Doug Cooley who made this opportunity possible. Teen Court is part of the Charles County Model Courts Program and deals with Juvenile Matters

Jerome Linkins Graduation Luncheon
It was wonderful to see such a supportive family for Jerome as he goes off to college. Commissioner Edith Patterson was also there to give her best wishes for a successful year. I taught Jerome’s father, Jehnell, in seventh grade science class. It was good to see him again.

July 24
Tri-County Community Action Council swore in new officers; best of Luck to them as they continue their excellent work. The Board contains representatives from Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary’s Counties. From Charles were: Deloris Barnes, Anita Bratcher-Butler, Reverend Ernest Downs, Rebecca Henderson, Earnestine Robinson, and Wayne Welsh. Also attending were Calvert County Board of Commissioners President Wilson Parran and Vice President Susan Shaw.

Senator Cardin Meeting with Charles County Elected Officials – This was an Excellent opportunity for our Commissioners to talk to the Senator about local needs – transportation, education issues, and support for the Veterans Memorial Museum.
