U.S. Senator Ben Cardin’s agenda in Charles County today included a roundtable discussion at New Life Church in La Plata with the many leaders of our faith community. He wanted to answer their questions on topics of interest, and to get new ideas for how the federal government can partner with their efforts more effectively to assist the less fortunate in our communities. We all know that the Government can’t do everything, and faith based groups are instrumental in creating effective volunteer outreach. When the two work hand in hand, the result is much better for the entire community.
