Green City launch

The new green city to be launched in St. Charles was the center of attention today.  Governor O’Malley joined a host of interested citizens, community leaders and area builders in getting a firsthand look at the plans for developing this green project.

The developers envision a city that generates 25% of its electricity from renewable sources, grows its own food, collects rainwater for irrigation and only landscapes with drought resistant plants and grasses.  Recycled materials will be used in every level of construction; and tests of new technology are planned with 20,000 new jobs created in the future.

Charles County is an exciting place to live and these new plans will bring more change to our communities.
