Guide to Services

CONSTITUENT SERVICES
Do you need help identifying the right state agency to help you? Delegate Murphy can assist you in finding the appropriate agency to resolve your individual concerns, such as health issues, the environment, transportation, public safety, agricultural and historical preservation, education, consumer protection, and other areas that might interest you.

SCHOLARSHIPS
Each year Delegate Murphy awards scholarships to residents of District 28 in Charles County. These scholarships are used to help with higher education costs. Students interested in applying for a scholarship should contact his office in Annapolis in February for an application. Deadline for submission of applications is April 1. Awards are made generally in May preceding the start of the academic year beginning in the fall.

LEGISLATIVE INFORMATION
Information on pending legislation, copies of bills that have been introduced and their status and copies of other State publications may be obtained by contacting Delegate Murphy’s Annapolis office.

INTERNS AND PAGES
Students are encouraged to apply early for these educational opportunities. Pages are high school students who serve during the legislative session while internships are available to college students throughout the year. A guidance counselor at your school can provide the necessary information on how to apply or you can contact Delegate Murphy directly.

VISITING ANNAPOLIS
Delegate Murphy encourages visitors to our State Capitol and can arrange for tours and gallery passes. Please contact his Annapolis office for information on how to make your visit both enjoyable and educational. This could also include shadowing the Delegate for a day.

COMMUNITY EVENTS
Is your organization having a community event? Delegate Murphy tries to attend as many community events as possible. If you would like him to attend or speak to your group about legislative issues, please contact him through his Annapolis Office to make arrangements.
