Mike Zabko, of the Southern Maryland Chapter of the American Red Cross, spoke to the Southern Maryland Delegation today concerning the Red Cross drive to get as many people as possible to be Red Cross Ready.  He reported that the number one disaster that the Red Cross responds to is Fire.

He hopes everyone in Southern Maryland will put together an Emergency Preparedness Kit, Make a Plan, and Be Informed.  You can get information at the website: http://redcross.org/flash/brr/English-flash/default.asp . If you can donate blood or organize a drive, please do so.  This will help your community.  Find out if anyone knows CPR or first aid where you go to school, work, or volunteer.  If you would like to learn, contact the Red Cross and take a class.  All of us have to do our part to be Red Cross Ready.
